We are all here to live every situation you can imagine, good or bad; right or wrong; positive or negative. Why? So we can learn from the experience as part of the adventure of life.  Murray Kibblewhite

STORY – YEAR 29–What makes a “Master Learning”

“A Master Learning” means choosing an extra challenging way to live,” Michael said.

“So I have chosen to be born without the use of my legs and so have always been in wheelchairs!” June added, nodding to herself. “Yes.” Michael confirmed, “It is like a final self-test.”

Then he let his mind wander as he recounted the decision to approach the Crippled Children’s Society some years back to find a suitable person to help him manage his Social Media.

After his first interview, Michael was impressed with June’s work record and that she was finishing a Bachelor’s of Communication through the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.

She had a full-time partner, lived in a specially designed home suitable for wheelchairs and had a helper come in daily. She was well set up.

Returning I to the present time, Michael reminded June, ““Remember we are all people in a lighted room with our eyes shut!” He lent back before he continued. “We do what we are told, how to act and where to go. It’s called education. Education that leads to conformity and obedience!”June nodded in agreement but did not comment.

“Sometimes we open our eyes and have a creative thought, but immediately close them again as we are told to stop dreaming and get our feet on the ground!” Michael observed dryly. With a shy smile, June added, “And to meet cultural expectations too!”

Michael nodded in agreement, then proceeded, “It is too painful to open our eyes as the brightness is very powerful and scary, plus we are punished if we do something different. Really, we all need to go to eye opening classes!”

Learnings-June lives with a major disability that has made heavy demands of her self-discipline and responsibility from which she has learned Acceptance, Patience, and Perseverance.

All life’s experiences are opportunities to learn. The challenge is to decide, what are the real lessons to be learned?
