CASE STUDY – HOW TO OVERCOME LEARNING TO GROW OLDER?
In his book “Ageless Body Timeless Mind” Deepak Chopra says on page 79, “In fact all of us are learning and unlearning to age, we just haven’t looked at ourselves that way.’
So how do we learn to age? Chopra, on page 69 lists 14 Negative Factors that accelerate aging. The four major factors are”: –
- Lack of regular daily routine
- Lack of regular work, and
- Job dissatisfaction
However, on the following page he lists another 14 factors that retard aging, making you grow younger, that include: –
- Happy marriage
- Job satisfaction
- Feeling of personal happiness
- Regular daily routines, and
- Regular work routines
As well, you can check yourself out as to your likelihood of having a long life by self-examination. For example, men who use the first person pronoun (I) most often had the highest risk of heart trouble.
Also, check out your ability to be adaptable. The higher your ability to be adaptable the higher your chances of living longer. So be aware.
Finally, anti-aging processes, by not using first person pronoun and becoming adaptable, can be learned! All you have to do is change from what you are doing now!
It takes courage, patience and self-discipline to change to grow younger. It is your choice to consider. Is growing younger worth the effort?
All life’s experiences are opportunities to learn. The challenge is to decide, what are the real lessons to be learnt?
